Phewww!!!!

It's been a busy few weeks, and the next few are going to be busy too, but I thought I shouldn't forget about my poor little blog.  We've been doing family portraits, first Holy Communions, and weddings, weddings, and more weddings, and of course, being my children's personal paparazzi.

The picture above was one my assistant snapped of me at the wedding we just did this weekend.  She was checking her lighting and of course me being the big dork that I am can't just stand there like a normal person, but have to pretend like I'm having the most amazing conversation with some imaginary person.

So a couple weeks ago I took portraits of the Fabin boys who were amazingly fun.  The mom had a mission for me, we only had a week to meet, take portraits, work on all the pics, meet again to review her proofs, retouch those photos, have them printed AND shipped to her house all in time for Mother's Day.  We did it with help from God, my trust lab quality printer I have in my home, and a lovely husband who doesn't mind watching motorcross while I"m working on pictures. They really came out awesome and I just LOVE them!!!! It was well worth the extra work!

Then I got to take First Holy Communion Pictures of Maggie, and adorable little girl who just looked like the prettiest princess in her dress.  She was so sweet and her mom Pam is hilarious.  First Holy Communion pictures are a little tricky because these sweet little girls are wearing gorgeous white dresses with beautiful detail and delicate white veils.  It's good to have a professional take the portraits because you have to expose everything correctly, while not losing any of the details in her dress or veil.   We got some of the most beautiful pictures of her and her mom just loved them.

Of course my little family's lives wouldn't be complete without me following them around with my camera, and I loved this little picture I snapped my Abby-doo while she was running around in my yard.  I have this special technique so that I can properly light my subject, while not losing all the gorgeous blues and details in the bright summer sky.  I just love the way it comes out in pictures.

Then this last weekend we had Patti and Dominick's wedding at L'Affaire in Mountainside.  They were such a wonderful couple and it was really sweet how they were just like two teenagers in love when they were dancing together.  It was a really great time, and happily for the groom, it was indoors as the hot, almost 80 degree weather didn't lend well to long sleeves and tuxedos.  Their pictures came out so beautifully, and although I can't do a full blog post on them yet, here's a sneak preview.  (I have these sweet little "love bird" props I had been dying to use all night, and finally during the last song I had my perfect chance.  The DJ got a kick out of seeing me sprint to my trusty bag of tricks to get everything in line to capture that sweet moment in time.)

Happy reading!
