Put your money where your mouth is

Pretty much every wedding photographer is going to post pretty pictures; that's the whole point right? And when you're shooting for 12 hours hopefully you'll get 4 or 5 good images for your portfolio, especially when you have the time to go home and photoshop them. But what if you only had 2 seconds to get a beautiful image? Well that's what we did at our last bridal show.

I truly believe there is nothing more beautiful than love, and when two people love each other (and you have the ability to see it) it's hard for me NOT to get a beautiful image. Sure you have to be technically proficient, know about F-Stops, Aperture, ISO settings, how to manipulate a shutter speed, blah, blah, blah, (and hopefully after 11 years shooting professionally I've got that covered) but you have to FEEL the picture. Ask my brides, they'll tell you that I have these mini stories in my head about "now you love him so much you can't bear not to kiss him".

That's the difference, sure the formals are posed, but they are REAL. Real people, real love, real memories. That's why I truly love what I do. In 50 years your grandchildren will be flipping through your wedding album (and probably eating if you plan on spoiling your grandchildren anything like my mother spoils my children) and they will just marvel at how beautiful grandma looked and how much grandpa loved her.

So that was a very long introduction to a very few brave people who let me photograph them at this weekend's bridal show.
