Do I REALLY need a professional photographer?

So you found the man of your dreams and you got engaged; congratulations!!!!  Now you have the joy (or stress ;-P) of planning a wedding.  There is so much to think about and so many choices....and everything really starts adding up.  Nobody has unlimited funds and everyone needs to save money where they can.

With all the people/friends/family members who have good cameras and are offering to do your wedding for a few hundred dollars; why would you pay the cost associated with a professional photographer?  Is there really a difference?

All my brides would tell you ABSOLUTELY yes! You'll ultimately have to decide for yourself, but you should strongly think about the following.

  • Wedding Photography is truly one of those things you only do once.  These aren't just pictures that are going to sit in your computer; this is the beginning of your life together.  Your wedding album is going to be looked at by your grandchildren; literally for generations to come your family and friends will be enjoying these images.

  • A wedding is an extremely unique photographic situation.  It's not like taking pictures in a static background; the conditions change vastly from one minute to the next.  You're shooting in a home, in a church, outdoors, in a venue, in a reception hall with specialty DJ lighting that is made to change every 30 seconds.  A photographer cannot rely on the camera's auto mode to deal with these tricky situations; and he/she certainly cannot be still learning her craft.  He will have to know what to do to be able to keep up with the day and be able to get those memories.  The only way to do this is with a lot of experience.

  • You will be incredibly busy and hopefully wrapped up with enjoying yourself to be able to ensure your photographer is capturing all the pictures that are important to you.  Unless wedding photography is second nature to you it's very easy to get wrapped up and forget to catch those precious images.  Once the day is over; it's over and you can never go back again.

  • Finally; it's hard!  There is a reason wedding photographers train with studios for years and years before they venture out on their own.  Your wedding isn't the time for someone to be learning or experimenting.  Your wedding is special and beautiful and deserves a professional who can truly capture this day for you (and your children, and your children's children.)

It’s not at all simplistic to just possibly be giving for free facts which some people have been trying to sell. Therefore we consider we need the blog owner to appreciate for this. The main illustrations you made, the simple blog menu, the friendships your site help to instill – it’s got mostly astounding, and it’s really aiding our son in addition to the family recognize that this idea is brilliant, which is extraordinarily indispensable.
