Doing a "First Look" (when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony) is a very popular way of having some special private time before your big day officially kicks off.

This is a wonderful moment to capture, but unfortunately not all photographers understand quite how to do this.  Here are some special tips to keep your First Look special AND capture those memories.

1.  Don't plan it out too much.  Your photographer should have already scouted out an area that will be perfect.  You shouldn't do anything other than what comes naturally.

2. It's OK to ask others to hang back while you have this special moment.  Your friends and family will be with you all day; they will understand if you'd like these few minutes to yourselves.  With my bride's permission; I'll kindly ask guests to stay back a bit if I see them peaking in.

3. Don't over think it!  There is no right or wrong way; this is YOUR time together.  Do whatever comes naturally whether that is romance or silliness.

4. Make sure whoever your photographer is that she understand she is nothing more than a passive on-looker.  She shouldn't be in the way of this memorable time.
