High Key

It's a rare occasion when I get to try out any new techniques on my husband, but we had both been doing some tutorials together and he was interested to see the results.  So I actually got to take some photos of him.  I was playing around with some simple high key techniques.  They are very simple, in fact you just hold your camera in one hand and your shoe mount flash in the other and shoot.  The trick is setting up your shutter so that it's fast enough not to catch most of the background, but not so fast that your flash can't catch the subject.  (My husband was sitting too close to a background to achieve the full effect.)

As with most things it was a little trial and error but it gave some pretty cool results.
